Isfahan was once the capital of the Seljuk Empire, and had a great reputation before becoming the capital of the Safavids. Although the remaining structures and buildings from the Seljuk era are not comparable to the historical sites of the Safavids in terms of quality and quantity, spectacular and admirable structures from the Seljuk period can still be observed in the corners of Isfahan.
